CURE-SHOCK Joins Public Burn Awareness Event at the Stanisław Sakiel Burn Treatment Centre

On 5 September 2026, CURE-SHOCK partner, the Stanisław Sakiel Burn Treatment Centre in Siemianowice Śląskie, hosted the third edition of its educational picnic “Burns – Learn. Understand. Prevent”. Dedicated to raising awareness of burn prevention and treatment as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle, the public event combined expert talks and first-aid workshops with practical demonstrations and interactive activities for adults and children.

For CURE-SHOCK, the day offered an opportunity to connect with people outside the usual scientific and clinical setting. Members of the team presented the project at a dedicated stand, where visitors could learn more about CURE-SHOCK and its ambition to improve treatment for patients with burn, septic and traumatic shock.

With current treatment options for circulatory shock still largely limited to supportive care, CURE-SHOCK is pursuing a new precision medicine approach centred on Invobenitug. This novel antibody is designed to target DPP3, a digestive enzyme that can contribute to cardiovascular dysfunction when released into the bloodstream, and is being evaluated in an international clinical trial. By investigating its safety and efficacy in patients with circulatory shock, the project aims to pave the way for a new targeted treatment that can improve recovery and survival.

Taking part in the event helped bring the research behind CURE-SHOCK closer to the public while creating space for questions, conversations and exchange around the project and its goals.
